Access matters more than most people expect on Wimbledon plots, where mature trees often sit behind the house with no route for machinery.
Tree work is genuinely dangerous, so ask for evidence of public liability insurance and whether the firm holds Arboricultural Association approval, which involves assessment. Autumn and winter are usually quieter and cheaper, and the work is less disruptive while trees are dormant.
